Season 1 : Ep. 10

I Just finished watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer, titled “Nightmares.” I think the story line is perfectly associated with the teenage life, In a High school setting and in an everyday scene. The title refers to every teenagers worst fears, For instance, Walking into class with no clothes on or not knowing you had a test that day. Everyone in the entire school saw their worst fear’s come true, Ex: As told in the beginning of the episode Buffy’s parents had gotten a divorce the year before, and her dad ended up going to her school and instead of spending the weekend with her like they had originally planned, he told her she was the cause of their divorce. Of course this was not the truth but only her “worst nightmare.” Anyways I really liked the show and would totally recommend it to anyone who is interested.

World of Computers (WBprompt1)

Isn't it funny how as times change we all seem to adapt to other forms of communication? When I was younger the only way you could keep in touch with someone was either by picking up a house phone and calling them or by writing a letter. Now by popular demand we all use Myspace, Facebook or something similar to a blog to inform everyone of our statuses. I myself am guilty of this new age invention. While I was pregnant I would write a weekly blog on Facebook to keep my family and friends updated on the nine month journey to becoming a mother. Everyday some new way will arise at which we no longer will talk face-to-face. Isn't it important that we keep that form of communication alive? As I was watching the news the other night, I was shocked to hear that texting had become such a problem! Lawmakers are trying to make texting illegal while driving. I sure hope I was not the only one who cringed at the thought of people being unaware of there surroundings. This initially was an invention that was meant to help you communicate more conveniently rather than dangerously? I suppose as every new and improved form of communication comes out, we will be able to overcome the short falls we call not paying attention.

High School is Hell

This article reminded me how glad I am not to be in that ackward stage of life anymore. Worrying about what to wear, and what the cool thing to do or say may be. But also like the article said "Todays teens live in a world where their classmates plot their murders, where the threat of a gun violence is always present." Kinda scary, isn't it. I mean it all boils done to something more than what we wear and who we hang out with, but the deeper insecurities and social pressures. All and all this was a very good article!

Serenity surprised me!

It was actually a pretty good show! I was especially intrigued by Kayley (the mechanic). She has a very positive personality, it was somewhat inspiring. For example; When the government agent shot Kayley in the stomach and someone in her crew asked if she could move her legs, she jokingly replied "Are you asking me to dance?". How many people can look at the bright side of a situation, right after they have been shot! I sometimes wish I could be more light hearted like her. Did anyone else think that the captain's persona was somewhat awkward and/or mysterious? I mean you must wonder why he was so protective over his crew. Maybe he See's these people as he would his family. I guess I would be the same way if the alliance was always hot on my families trail. Here is a quote by Booker the Shepard that joined the ship in Estefanie, he had a very good outlook on life as well when Kayley asked him " How come you don't care where your going?", he replied "How you get there is the worthier part!".
